Oh well I'm not too worried (guilty however a bit) as I have already organised late last night (nothing like the last minute) another beach walk today with Heather. I'm really looking forward to these 12kms and nothing but air. Heather and I have become good friends and we talk so much on our walk it's great.
This morning's walk isn't anything too out of the ordinary except me thinking that I was lighter than gravity! We usually walk on the path as much as we can because the sand has no consitency to it and so it can be quite hard work walking on that sand so to get a good pace we walk on the concrete up the top which overlooks the beach.
We get near somerton park and the path stops so we have to drop down onto the beach for a km or so. Chatting away and not realising that we haven't gone back up we quickly come across some of the left over pool tides these are ok we can jump over most. Until we get to one and I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe I was trying to channel Jesus and try walking on water but I totally underestimated the depth of this little puddle. I stepped in the middle of it quickly to help me leap across to the other side and I sunk! BANG wet foot, wet sock! Grrr I hate wet feet! LOL
To make things worse when I get to Glenelg to visit the toilet (our walk ritual LOL) the hand dryers are working so I can't even give it a go to try and dry my sock!!! Ohhh I'll have a cry now! LOL Today's walk burns 965 calories! I love it! So great!
Today's photo reminds me so much of the beach walk. As we start we are full of energy and positivity and go 'woo hoo this is great' and about 10 mintues out of Glenelg I think we are never going to get there. We can sort of see the Jetty but it seems that every step forward I take it takes a step backwards! Hey!!! Who's moving the Jetty??? Then we turn around and start to head back and when we look we can't see the Brighton Jetty! Again someone moved my Jetty!!! LOL
Today's unusual thing on the walk - we see this prawn on the beach (sorry for the picture not being here, the web is doing funny things). Now prawns and the ocean aren't unusual but the fact that this one is shell-less I'm thinking either someone left part of their breakfast behind or a fisherman had it as his bait OR the prawn is sunbaking naked! Cheeky prawn!!!
As today's beach walk as you know is 12kms I use it for my Facebook Dedication Walk to - Emma Gartlan-Hay ~ Rebecca Healey ~ Deidre Green ~ Kym Lear ~ Peter Tremlett ~ Tamika AndShaun Simpson ~ Sam Paior ~ Stefan 'Octanic' Butler ~ Karen Wright ~ Kellie Bower ~ Tilly Gurr ~ Chandelle Arthur
