Another daunting task for me. Giving the kitchen a makeover.... (I wish it was more about remodelling that would be a good excuse to tell hubby - we HAVE to do over the kitchen - Mish told me too.... tee hee). But it's all about the food!!!! There isn't too much 'naughy' foods in this house as I had previously cleaned out a fair amout of it but I do have the occasional treats in there as my son is a very fussy eater and well as mums we all have our bribes in there. I know we shouldn't give our children food as rewards but some days you need that bribery and some days what ever works to get you through the day. I also figure that 'knowing' the treats are in the cupboard is going to present myself the opportunity to flex my willpower muscle and not have it.
I will be honest and say that I feel guilty not having some treats in the cupboard for my hubby as he rides a bike to and from work and when he gets home from work is likely to eat anything not nailed down so I like to know that there are some snacks in there for him as he also is a very fussy eater and is not going to reach for fruit.
It is something that I will have to learn to deal with regarding the children as they say 'be the example you want to set' and I don't want my daughter dealing with the issue of weight loss games when she is older if she learns to eat right when she is younger. We are getting there as a family. She eats a lot like me will lean towards salads as a side where as we give my son pasta and other carbs as he has been the same weight for quite a while now and is going to be a skinny boy probably even when he is older.
