Zumba Challenge - Day 1 - Friday 16th March

As I am fast becoming a bit of a Zumba addict I have decided to set myself a little goal.  30 Zumba classes in 30 days.  I have looked forward through my diary and I can see that I have easter and school holidays coming up so I will have to be very clever and work around these.  I'm actually going to enjoy this challenge.

Wednesday evenign I did my regular Zumba class with my best friend Anne - we really enjoy doing this together.  She keeps saying that she is no good but to her I say -(see side pic ---->)
she comes along and she gives it a go and I love her for that!

I had to go to the evening class too as I missed out on my regular Wednesday AM at the gym because I was sleeping.... and no I wasn't being lazy although part of me might have been.

The night before I had spent from 11pm until 7am in hospital in the ER with let's say an uncomfortable 'digestion' problem.  I'm not going into detail but I guess a change in diet and exercise can shake up the system a bit and I spent nearly the whole night awake except for about 2 hours when they found me a bed while I waited for a second consult.  As I'm a blogger I took these pics for you ....
do you like my 'view of a room'.

I took these photo's also too to remind me that getting sick and injured is going to be a part of my journey and it's just a small road bump and not a huge hole that allows me to take 20 steps backwards.  I wasn't allowed to eat or drink anything while I was in there and I wouldn't have anyway because I'm normally alseep at this time so I just sit there 'waiting, waiting, waiting' and then eventually get a bed for two hours and I think about all the exciting zumba classes that I have for the week coming on.  I can certainly say my life outcome has changed for the better.

When I got sick in the previous two rounds I went into tear mode.  I guess you feel that you are doing so well it's embarrasing when they go through your stats of your weight and make you do ECG's and you just want to yell at them I use to be 10kgs heavier I'm on 12wbt and I'm making a healthy lifestyle.  I do tell the doc that I eat well and am generally healthy and he smiles but I wonder what he's really thinking....

Although I crawl into bed at 7am my husband is so kind to take the children to school for me and I set my alarm for 11am to get up to go to Zumba.  The alarm wakes me up - I turn it off and roll over back to sleep.  I honestly don't know if I should have gotten up and whether or not I would have been able to but all I know is that without the 8 hours of sleep I normally get and then suddenly only after 4 hours I'm pretty tired and I don't think it's safe to drive anywhere!

Thursday did the regular Zumba class at Glitz I am starting to really enjoy these as they are taught by Shaun who is a ballroom dancer who has great form with some movements so I am learning to curve some of my technique.

Day 1 - I head off to the gym for the regular 10.30am class with Kylie and receive a compliment from one of reception staff saying I'm becoming quite a regular which is lovely!  I decide to be brave and take a front row position I figure it will make me work hard!  I was sooo right!  I smash through 790 calories the highest ever I have done in 1 single class of 45 - 60mins.

I'm feeling so pleased with myself that I've started off the challenge well and have set the bar high.. it's going to be interesting to see what the next 29 days bring!!!
